Responsibilities include stitching leather, suede, and other materials according to specifications, ensuring consistent seam quality, and maintaining a high standard of craftsmanship throughout production. Key duties involve reading and interpreting design patterns, aligning and joining materials accurately, and following established production procedures to meet quality and safety standards. You will monitor machine performance, identify potential issues, and perform basic maintenance, such as thread changes and cleaning, to ensure optimal operation. Collaboration is essential as you work closely with other team members to troubleshoot challenges, maintain workflow, and meet production targets. The position requires manual dexterity, the ability to work while seated for extended periods, and a keen eye for detail to inspect finished pieces for accuracy and quality. Previous experience operating sewing machines in a manufacturing or custom production environment is highly preferred. Familiarity with leatherwork and footwear construction is an asset. Training will be provided for company-specific processes and procedures. Physical requirements include lifting materials up to 20 pounds, working in a fast-paced environment, and occasionally standing or reaching as needed.
