This is an advanced packaging role for someone who is comfortable independently operating, setting up, cleaning, and changing over packaging equipment while maintaining high standards for production, quality, food safety, and workplace safety. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and able to troubleshoot routine equipment issues while knowing when to involve Maintenance or Management. What You'll Do Independently set up, start, operate, and shut down packaging equipment. Perform equipment cleaning and sanitation before, during, and after production runs. Complete CIP (Clean-In-Place) processes as required. Perform equipment disassembly and reassembly as trained. Complete format changeovers and verify equipment setup through test runs. Make routine equipment adjustments for different package types and production requirements. Troubleshoot and correct basic mechanical and operational issues, including jams, resets, minor adjustments, and approved part changes. Monitor equipment performance, identify recurring issues, and communicate problems that may affect production or quality. Accurately document production, downtime, sanitation, CIP, and quality information. Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with GMP, SQF, and sanitation standards . Follow proper procedures for chemical handling, storage, and use. Perform quality checks and immediately report product defects, contamination risks, or packaging concerns. Follow all facility safety requirements, including PPE, machine guarding, chemical safety, and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) . Communicate equipment conditions, changeover status, cleaning completion, and outstanding issues during shift handoffs. Work closely with Packaging, Quality, Warehouse, and Maintenance teams to meet production goals. Support and coach Packaging Operator 1 team members on safe and effective work practices. Packaging Operator 2 team members are expected to become fully cross-trained across the packaging area, including: KHS Filler Flash Pasteurizer Surge Tank Product Tank Conveyor Systems Twist Rinse Warming Tunnel Variety Pack Equipment Depalletizer Cartoner Tray Packer ARPAC Shrink Bundler Packout Operations Cross-training includes equipment setup, operation, cleaning/CIP, changeovers, and operator-level troubleshooting . What We're Looking For Previous packaging, manufacturing, or production equipment experience preferred. Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot basic equipment issues. Ability to independently set up and operate production equipment. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Ability to follow GMP, food safety, sanitation, and safety procedures. Ability to accurately complete production and quality documentation. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Ability to recognize when an equipment or safety issue requires escalation. Willingness to learn and become cross-trained on multiple pieces of packaging equipment. Pay:
