Job Description
OVERVIEW
The Baler Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining the baling machine that compresses and binds carboard into compact bales that are loaded onto pallets and transported into a truck or container using a pallet jack. All Live Comfortably Associates are expected to support Operations by working efficiently and maintaining a high level of productivity for the organization to meet and exceed customer demands. This position places a strong significance on effective teamwork, clear communication, sound judgment, initiative, safety orientation, reliability and a strong work ethic.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
Observes all Safety Rules and operates without harm to person or property. Maintaining a clean and organized work area Performs duties of general help and job assignments as required.BALER OPERATOR DUTIES
Perform safety inspection on the baler prior to operation and report daily on equipment status. Set up, operate, and perform basic adjustments to the equipment per the individual job requirements, operating characteristics, and capabilities of the equipment.Follow baling procedures:
Load cardboard the baler Operate baler machine to compress and bind cardboard. Observe the machine during operation Once the baler is full, create the bale Unload Open baler doors, remove bale and place on to a pallet Pull the Transfer pallet to the truck or container using a pallet jack Maintain the work area, and perform routine housekeeping Set up, operate, and perform basic adjustments to the equipment per the individual job requirements, operating characteristics, and capabilities of the equipment. Comply with Company safety policies, procedures, and best practices Other projects as assigned by Supervisor. All Live Comfortably associates play a crucial role in meeting our customer requirements and are expected after initial training to perform with minimal supervision. Associates may be asked to assist with other duties and work in other departments when needed to meet those requirements.REQUIREMENTS, SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
High School or equivalent Experience in machine operation Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Ability to read, write and follow directions Ability to count and math skills to include addition, subtraction, division and multiplication with or without a calculator Experience and Proficiency in Competencies necessary to be successful in role: Effective Communication and Interpersonal Skills Strong teamwork with ability to Establish and Maintain Relationships in a professional manner Exhibits a High sense of Urgency and works well under pressure and accelerated time-lines Possess a Positive Manner and Approach Practices Sound Judgement with the ability to make decisions in a timely manner Adaptable and Flexible High level of Responsibility and Reliability to include maintaining good attendance Strong Safety Orientation.Disclaimer:

While performing the duties of this job, the Associate may be exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate however there may be areas designated as Hearing Protection required and provided earplugs are mandatory in those areas. Not all areas of the plant and warehouse are climate controlled and exposure to heat and/or cold can occur. The Associate is frequently exposed to dust and floating particles used in the manufacturing, storage and inventory of raw materials and finished goods .Benefits
