This position supports a safe, quality-focused manufacturing environment while contributing to operational excellence and continuous improvement.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesAssemble steel components and subassemblies using hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment.
Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, drawings, and assembly instructions.
Verify materials and components prior to assembly.
Perform quality inspections throughout the assembly process to ensure products meet specifications.
Accurately measure parts using tape measures, calipers, squares, and other precision tools.
Identify and report material, quality, or equipment issues to supervision.
Maintain production standards while ensuring quality and safety requirements are met.
Safely operate overhead cranes, forklifts, and other material-handling equipment as trained and authorized.
Assist with packaging, staging, and preparation of finished products for shipment.
Maintain a clean and organized work area utilizing 5S principles.
Support continuous improvement initiatives and participate in team problem-solving activities.
Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and work instructions.
Qualifications RequiredHigh school diploma or GED preferred.
Manufacturing, assembly, fabrication, or construction experience preferred.
Ability to read a tape measure accurately.
Ability to interpret basic production drawings and work instructions.
Mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand and power tools safely.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
PreferredPrior experience in metal manufacturing, fabrication, or industrial assembly.
Experience operating forklifts or overhead cranes.
Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience.
Physical RequirementsAbility to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and more with assistance.
Frequent bending, kneeling, reaching, pushing, and pulling.
Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures and noise levels.
Ability to safely handle materials, tools, and equipment required for assembly operations.
