Job Description

AERET Restoration is seeking an experienced, dependable Lead Restoration Technician to lead on-site crews and help deliver high-quality water, fire, mold, and property-restoration services for residential and commercial customers. This is a hands-on field leadership role for someone who takes ownership, communicates clearly, works safely, leads by example, and understands the importance of quality work, accurate documentation, productivity, and exceptional customer service. The Lead Restoration Technician works closely with the Project Manager to keep projects moving, support field teams, address jobsite issues promptly, and ensure customers have a professional and positive experience during a stressful time. Responsibilities Lead, direct and assist on-site technicians performing water mitigation, fire and smoke cleaning, mold-related work, demolition, cleaning, containment, drying, and other assigned restoration activities. Assign daily tasks based on project needs, technician capability, safety requirements, and direction from the Project Manager. Lead by example through professionalism, accountability, a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and respect for customers, coworkers, and property. Monitor jobsite quality, productivity, equipment use, cleanliness, safety practices, and completion of assigned work. Set up, monitor, document, and remove drying equipment, containment, air-moving equipment, dehumidifiers, and other restoration equipment as assigned. Assist with emergency response, including after-hours and on-call work as scheduled or required by business needs. Communicate job progress, site conditions, labor needs, equipment needs, customer concerns, delays, and potential scope changes to the Project Manager promptly. Maintain accurate photos, moisture readings, daily notes, equipment records, and other required job documentation using company software and systems. Use systems such as Encircle, Company Cam, Matterport, Albiware, and other company-required technology to support project documentation and reporting. Provide accurate field observations, measurements, photos, and information to support project scoping, estimating, job costing, invoicing, and closeout. Interact professionally with customers, adjusters, property managers, subcontractors, vendors, and other project stakeholders. Help train, mentor, and support technicians while promoting a team-first, accountable jobsite culture. Follow all company, OSHA, IICRC, and jobsite safety requirements, including required PPE and established safety procedures. Safely operate company vehicles, equipment, hand tools, and power tools. Perform other related field duties as assigned. Qualifications Previous experience as a Lead Restoration Technician, Restoration Technician, Crew Lead, Foreman, or similar field-leadership role. Experience in water mitigation, fire and smoke restoration, mold remediation, property restoration, construction, demolition, or related field work. Demonstrated ability to lead a crew, manage time, prioritize work, and maintain quality in a fast-paced environment. Strong customer-service and communication skills, especially when working with customers experiencing property damage. Ability to work independently while following direction from the Project Manager and established company processes. Strong attention to detail, organization, follow-through, and job documentation. Basic familiarity with Xactimate is preferred; willingness to learn and provide accurate field information for estimating is required. Experience with Encircle, Company Cam, Matterport, Albiware, or similar restoration documentation software is preferred. IICRC, OSHA, and ICRA certifications are preferred. Candidates without required certifications must be willing to obtain them within 90 days of hire and provide proof to Human Resources. Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record required. Ability to safely perform the physical duties of restoration field work, including moving equipment and materials, using hand and power tools, working in varying jobsite conditions, and wearing required PPE. Ability to participate in an on-call rotation and respond to emergency work when scheduled.
