Shift Job Purpose:
Our Addison, Ill plant is looking for a Lead Process Technician to lead our 2nd or 3rd shift. This professional develops, tests, and manages the manufacturing of permanently rigid, heat-resistant plastics. They will oversee polymer processing, quality control, and shop floor operations. They direct production, troubleshoot resin batch or molding issues, maintain ERP data and train staff while ensuring safety compliance.
Nature of Duties:
Setup molds in injection and compression molding presses. Maintain press uptime during shifts by keeping machines full of material. Troubleshoot press parameters to produce parts within specification. Ensure all employees on shift are performing duties up to job expectations. Maintain operation conditions within set tolerances. Recommend improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions. Set up and monitor molding machines, adjust barrel/mold temperatures and ensure proper curing Resolve batch defects, flow marks, or premature curing issues on the production floor. Proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and adherence to safety guidelines. Maintain 5S at the workstation and all areas of the plant. Maintain and evaluate operator training. Maintain training records and production skills matrix. Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
High School diploma or GED 5+ years of plastics processing experience in injection molding Ability to communicate in English and Spanish (written/orally). Comfortable using basic computer software (Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word) Thermosets experience a plus Sanmina is an Equal Opportunity Employer
