They ensure the machines are correctly set up, monitor the grinding process, and inspect finished products to ensure quality. This position is on first shift and the hours are 5:45am - 2:15pm, Monday - Friday with opportunity for OT. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Set up, operate and maintain grinding machines. Select grinding wheels and other related tools. Set up, operate and maintain manual Sunnen honing machines. Setup, operate and maintain CNC honing machines Select diamond tooling/stones for the related honing machine. Perform quality control checks on products. Ensure that safety regulations are adhered to. Additional duties or responsibilities as assigned by department supervisor. Required Skills/Attributes Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings. Ability to operate a grinding machine. Ability to use measuring equipment. Ability to work with minimal supervision.
Strong work ethic:
Willing to work OT to meet tight deadlines as needed. Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent (GED). 1-3 years minimum related work experience or formal training Ability and experience operating and maintaining grinding machinery. Strong communication skills Ability to follow instructions. Physical Job Requirements Regularly required to stand and reach the duration of shift, 8-10 hours. Occasionally required to walk, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or bend. Frequently required to perform repetitive or short-cycles work. Regularly lift, push, or pull up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds. Understands and observes all necessary safety procedures: safety glasses, shoes, ear protection, machine interlocks, lifting guidelines, etc. as designated in specific work area assigned.
