Operator

Job Description

The Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining injection molding machines in a safe and efficient manner. The Operator I also assembles, trims, inspects and package parts. Operator I is responsible for ensuring products and parts meet quality specifications and that machines are running smoothly throughout production shifts.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Ø Grinds part and empty the grinders. Ø Performs gauging of products as required. Ø Monitor machine cycles, product output, and quality. Ø Inspect finished parts visually and/or using measuring tools to ensure quality standards are met. Ø Document production data and any downtime. Ø Assembles plastic parts from injection molding machines according to specifications and work instructions. Ø Trims excess material (flash or gate) from parts using hand tools, clippers, or trimming machines. Ø Package finished parts in appropriate containers with correct labelling and documentation. Ø Report any defects, inconsistencies or equipment issues to the Supervisor or QC. Ø Follow all safety protocols and wear required PPE. Ø Keep work areas clean and organized. Ø Support continuous improvement initiatives in the molding department. Ø Maintain regular and timely attendance in accordance with company policies. Ø Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Ø High School Diploma/GED and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Ø 1+ year of experience in injection molding or similar manufacturing environment (preferred).
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS
Ø Familiarity with plastic resins, molding machines and tooling. Ø Able to read and understand "red books", work orders and inspection tools. Ø Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Ø Ability to understand written and oral instruction. Ø Good hand-eye coordination and skill in detailed-oriented work. Ø Understanding of equipment operation.
Pay:
$14.00 - $15.00 per hour
