Job Description

Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Specialty Machine Operator - Core Maker to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating, setting up, and maintaining specialized machinery used in core production processes. Your expertise will ensure the efficient fabrication of high-quality metal components, adhering to safety standards and precise measurement protocols. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to innovative manufacturing projects in a fast-paced environment where precision and safety are paramount.
Duties Machine Operation:
Set up, program, and run core-making machines (such as cold-box, isocure, or shell core machines).
Tooling Management:
Mount, align, and remove core boxes, inspecting them for damage, wear, or blocked vent holes.
Quality Control:
Inspect finished cores for defects, monitor cycle parameters, and ensure dimensional accuracy.
Core Finishing:
Clean, trim, drill, dip (apply wash solutions), glue, and assemble multi-part cores.
Handling and Storage:
Safely stack, rack, or transport completed cores to designated storage areas or production lines
Qualifications Experience & Education:
A high school diploma or equivalent is standard, paired with 1-2 years of experience in a foundry environment, heavy manufacturing, or machine operation.
Measurement Skills:
Competence using precision measuring tools like calipers, micrometers, and gauges to verify core dimensions.
Physical Stamina:
Capability to stand for extended periods, work in hot and dusty environments, and safely lift heavy weights (typically up to 50 lbs).
Safety Mindset:
Strong understanding of standard industrial safety protocols, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) usage.
