Job Description

APEX Placement & Consulting is seeking experienced Die Setters to join a fast-paced plastic injection molding operation in Shelby Township, MI. This position is responsible for removing and installing molds, setting up injection molding machines, and ensuring equipment is properly prepared for continuous production. What's in it for you: 2nd shift schedule - Monday to Friday from 12pm-8pm. (must be available to train on days if needed) Competitive hourly pay rate at $23.88 + 8% shift premium Contract-to-hire opportunity - you'll be eligible to be hired based on attendance, performance and client needs Amazing benefit package once hired in permanently Medical, Dental and Vision 401K Paid vacation What your day will look like: Remove and install molds in plastic injection molding machines. Set up machines for continuous production by properly positioning and aligning molds. Connect required water, hydraulic, and air feeds during mold changes and machine setups. Adjust machine control settings according to the prescribed setup requirements for each part. Properly shut down molding machines, including completing Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, purging material, and removing dies/molds. Complete tool change reports, production logs, and other required documentation accurately and on time. Utilize appropriate hand tools to safely install and remove molds and dies. Operate forklifts and overhead cranes as required. Assist with continuous improvement efforts related to mold changes and machine setup procedures. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area. Follow all company safety procedures, work rules, policies, and Employee Handbook requirements. Perform additional duties as assigned by management. Qualifications & Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent required. Technical training in a related field or an Associate Degree is preferred. Minimum of 2 years of experience with die setting and/or mold change procedures. Previous experience with plastic injection molding equipment strongly preferred. Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability. Knowledge of the proper use of hand tools for setting molds and dies. Valid Driver's License required. Ability to operate a forklift and obtain required forklift certification. Ability to operate an overhead crane and obtain required certification.
