Surface Grinder Operator RaiZan Solutions Sterling Heights, MI Job Details Full-time $22.97 - $25.00 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Machine setup Grinding machine operation Tool & die Mechanical knowledge Equipment adjustment (production tasks) Full Job Description Mattison Reciprocating Surface Grinder Operator Position Overview We are expanding our precision grinding capabilities and seeking a highly skilled Mattison Reciprocating Surface Grinder Operator with experience on large reciprocating table grinders. Experience with Mattison machines is not strictly required . Candidates skilled in operating a large reciprocating flat surface grinder, not an OD grinder, will be considered . The ideal candidate is a seasoned machinist with strong knowledge of wheel technology, heat management, and precision flat grinding and must be comfortable working with tight tolerances . This position is a replacement for a retiring employee and needs to be filled as soon as possible. Key Duties Set up and operate Mattison reciprocating grinders. Grind tool steel, alloy steel, and die blocks to tight tolerances. Perform wheel selection, dressing, and machine adjustments. Rig, position, and secure heavy workpieces. Verify flatness, parallelism, and finish using precision instruments. Maintain grinder performance and coolant systems. Qualifications Experience operating a large reciprocating flat surface grinder. Mattison machine experience is not strictly required. Must be comfortable working with tight tolerances. Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and maintain high-quality standards. Background in tool & die, mold bases, or heavy grinding strongly preferred. We Offer $22.00/-$25.00/Hr Stable, long-term work.
