00/hour (higher compensation available for exceptional candidates) We are partnering with a growing manufacturing company in Northvale, NJ to identify an experienced Mold Maker for a direct-hire opportunity on 2nd shift. This is a hands-on role responsible for building, maintaining, repairing, and improving precision molds and tooling that support high-volume manufacturing operations.
Position Overview:
The Mold Maker will work closely with Engineering, Production, and Quality teams to design, build, troubleshoot, and maintain molds and fixtures used in the manufacturing process. This position requires strong machining skills, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret complex drawings and specifications.
Responsibilities:
Analyze blueprints, specifications, and material requirements to determine the most effective manufacturing approach. Design, build, repair, and maintain precision molds and fixtures. Collaborate with engineers, machinists, and production personnel to ensure tooling functionality and product quality. Use precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauge blocks to inspect completed molds and components. Troubleshoot tooling and mold issues and recommend repairs or process improvements. Perform machining operations using mills, lathes, grinders, drills, and other toolroom equipment. Maintain accurate documentation related to mold construction, repairs, and modifications. Adhere to all safety, quality, and production standards. Support continuous improvement initiatives to increase tooling performance and efficiency.
Desired Background/Skills:
High School Diploma or GED required. Minimum of 5 years of Mold Maker experience in a manufacturing environment. Strong understanding of mold construction, maintenance, and repair. Experience with progressive dies and stamping operations is highly preferred. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and engineering drawings. Extensive experience with machining equipment including milling machines, grinders, lathes, and drill presses. Experience performing inspections and quality control measurements using precision measuring instruments. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
