Injection/Plastic Molding Technician Location:
Rahway, New Jersey Type:

RESPONSIBILITIES
Set up injection molding machines, perform mold changeovers, and ensure proper installation and alignment of molds and materials. Adjust and program machine process parameters, including temperature, pressure, cycle speed, and clamp force, to maintain optimal production performance. Diagnose and resolve molding defects such as short shots, flash, sink marks, and cosmetic imperfections. Perform routine preventive maintenance on molds and auxiliary equipment, including dryers, material loaders, and robotic systems. Monitor ongoing production to ensure parts meet quality specifications and halt operations when quality issues arise. Maintain accurate production records, SPC charts, and ensure compliance with GMP, FDA, and OSHA standards where applicable. Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and production teams to support continuous process improvement initiatives.
QUALIFICATIONS
Associates degree in Precision Machining Technology (or equivalent technical program) preferred Must have 3+ years of experience as an Injection/Plastic Molding Technician. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and use precision measuring instruments. Working knowledge of plastic resins, including drying, blending, handling, and contamination control. Basic computer literacy with strong communication skills and keen attention to detail. Familiarity with hot runner systems, robotics, and auxiliary molding equipment.
