Full-Time (1stShift:
Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM- 2:30 PM; flexible start time, overtime as needed) Job Summary Our client, a leading automotive manufacturing supplier, is seeking a Mold Repair Technician to support tooling operations within an injection molding environment.
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in mold repair, mold making, or completion of a journeyman program
- Strong mechanical aptitude with understanding of dimensional measurements and tolerances
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings
- Experience using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, comparators, depth gauges)
- Hands-on experience with machining equipment (mills, lathes, grinders, drill press)
- Ability to troubleshoot tooling issues in a production environment
- Must be able to work overtime, flexible hours, and be on-call for production support Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in injection molding or plastics manufacturing environments
- Proficiency with CNC machining, EDM (wire/sinker), and TIG welding
- Experience with CAD/CAM systems
- Forklift operation experience
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Experience with preventative maintenance programs for tooling
- Ability to fabricate fixtures, jigs, and gauges
- Experience supporting continuous improvement initiatives Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Repair and maintain injection molds using hand tools, power tools, and machining equipment
- Perform preventative maintenance and inspections on molds to ensure optimal performance
- Diagnose and troubleshoot tooling issues including flash, core breakage, and downtime events
- Support press calls by identifying and resolving tooling-related production issues
- Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and part specifications to complete repairs and modifications
- Disassemble, inspect, and reassemble molds to verify alignment and dimensional accuracy
- Fabricate and modify fixtures, jigs, and gauges to support production efficiency
- Assist with new mold inspections, inventory tracking, and tooling preparation for shipment or storage Physical and Environment Requirements Physical expectations and working conditions associated with the job may include: standing, walking, and bending for extended periods; lifting up to 50 lbs; and working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, noise, heat, and industrial equipment.
