Babich & Associates is conducting a confidential search for a first-shift Tooling Technician with substantial plastic injection mold experience. The successful candidate will perform preventive and predictive maintenance, diagnose mold-function problems, repair tooling, manage spare components, and support production when a mold requires machining or corrective work. This is a hands-on position for someone who understands how molds are built, maintained, disassembled, repaired, measured, and returned to service. Experience should include conventional machining equipment such as mills, lathes, and grinders. Familiarity with CNC equipment, mold polishing, hot-runner systems, valve gates, hydraulics, and basic MIG or TIG welding is strongly preferred. Key Responsibilities- Perform preventive and predictive mold maintenance
- Diagnose mold-function problems and complete tooling repairs
- Manage spare components
- Support production when molds require machining or corrective work
- Disassemble, repair, measure, and return molds to service
- Work with conventional machining equipment, including mills, lathes, and grinders Shift Monday-Friday, 6:45 a.
Requirements:
- Completed Mold Maker apprenticeship or at least five years of comparable Mold Maker experience
- Substantial hands-on plastic injection mold experience
- Experience with conventional machining equipment
- Familiarity with CNC equipment, mold polishing, hot-runner systems, valve gates, and hydraulics strongly preferred
