Company:
Cactus Feeders is an Amarillo, Texas based cattle company. Originally founded by the Engler Family in 1975, Cactus is now 100% Employee Owned, producing a million head of fed cattle annually. The Company has locations throughout the Texas Panhandle, Southwest Kansas, and Eastern Colorado. A feedmill operator is responsible for running feedmill equipment to batch feed rations for the cattle. Job responsibilities include working with boilers, flakers, and heavy machinery to produce the feed and observing and inspecting the machinery to ensure that all equipment runs effectively to reduce any setbacks in production.

Hale Center Feedyard Responsibilities:
Feedmill Operations & Equipment Observe and follow computer system to batch feed and detect maintenance tasks needed Assist crew with daily mill housekeeping items; cleaning and organizing work areas Maintain inventory of feedmill ingredients Comply with safety practices, procedures, and mandatory regulations such as EPA, FDA, and OSHA Other duties as assigned Safety, Compliance & Cleanliness Follow all feed safety protocols Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment to reduce fire and safety risks Participate in safety meetings, training, and required certifications Teamwork & Communication Communicate effectively with feed truck drivers and management to ensure timely feed delivery Work collaboratively with feedmill and yard crews to meet daily production goals Report equipment issues, or operational concerns to supervisors
Requirements:
Mechanical knowledge and working knowledge of feedmill systems is a plus General Understanding of boilers and electrical systems is a plus 1-2 years' experience operating heavy equipment is a plus Willing to learn different roles within the feedmill Team Player with effective communication to team members and Feedmill Manager Must be able to walk and stand for an extended time Must be able to work in a constant moving environment
