Permian Enterprises, Ltd. is seeking experienced Manual Lathe Operators to join our manufacturing team in Odessa, Texas. We are looking for dependable, safety-focused machinists with experience operating manual lathes, performing premium threading, and machining oilfield tubular products. If you have experience with manual machining, tubing threading, premium threading, OCTG products, or oilfield manufacturing, we encourage you to apply. Essential Job Responsibilities Operate manual lathe machines to perform premium threading and precision machining operations. Perform tubing threading and other machining operations according to engineering specifications. Set up and adjust manual lathe machines for accurate production. Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, technical drawings, and machining specifications. Verify dimensions and quality using precision measuring instruments, including calipers, micrometers, thread gauges, and dial indicators. Inspect finished products to ensure compliance with quality standards and customer specifications. Perform routine machine maintenance, including checking coolant levels, lubricating equipment, and making minor machine adjustments. Follow all company safety policies, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Accurately document production activities and update job status in company tracking systems. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Work collaboratively with supervisors and team members to meet production schedules and quality expectations. Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of experience operating manual lathe machines in a manufacturing or machine shop environment. Experience with premium threading, tubing threading, or oilfield tubular products (OCTG) preferred. Experience in an oil & gas machine shop or pipe processing facility is highly desirable. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and machining specifications. Proficient in using precision measuring instruments, including calipers, micrometers, thread gauges, and dial indicators. Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot machining issues. Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work. Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods. Willingness to work overtime and weekends as business needs require. Strong work ethic, dependable attendance, and commitment to workplace safety. Why Join Permian Enterprises?
