This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in a hands-on career in water system operations and maintenance, with opportunities to grow and advance based on experience, qualifications, and training. Water Distribution Technicians perform a variety of semi-skilled and skilled duties related to the operation, maintenance, repair, and construction of water distribution facilities and infrastructure.

Essential Functions :

Perform general water distribution, construction, inspection, maintenance, and customer service duties. Locate and document District water lines, infrastructure, and appurtenances using maps, as-builts, GPS, and electronic equipment. Inspect, maintain, and secure remote facilities including storage tanks, pumping stations, reservoirs, and intake structures. Install, repair, and maintain water lines, service connections, meters, valves, pumps, PRVs, and related equipment. Read, install, exchange, and troubleshoot water meters; identify leaks, damage, tampering, and other issues and initiate follow-up work orders as needed. Collect water samples, perform basic water quality testing, document results, and take appropriate action. Operate and adjust pumps, valves, chemical feed systems, and other distribution equipment. Perform field customer service, including service turn-ons/shut-offs, customer notifications, and responding to service inquiries and complaints. Perform facility cleaning, inspections, grounds maintenance, and heavy physical labor associated with distribution system operations. Follow established safety procedures and assist Treatment Operators during emergencies or as needed to maintain reliable customer service.
