Job Description
Department Facilities Management Job Summary The Energy Center Technician operates and maintains, without supervision, all Energy Center equipment to include all equipment pertinent to the generation of steam, such as boilers, de-aerator tank, flash tanks, feed water pumps, gas valves / regulators, fuel oil pumps / regulators, etc., as well as, operating and maintaining chillers, chilled water pumps and controls, condenser cooling towers and all valves and controls used for operation of the emergency generators, medical air compressors, medical vacuum pumps and related equipment. The ideal candidate has the knowledge and understanding of proper water treatment testing and procedures for both chilled water and steam generating equipment, and operating knowledge of building automation/energy management and fire alarm monitoring/control systems. Required Qualifications
- Require three (3) years of power plant experience, preferably in large plant operations. Preferred Qualifications
- Prefer working knowledge and understanding of multiple skilled trades relevant to healthcare industry.
- Prefer the ability to read/understand prints/diagrams for buildings and equipment.
- Prefer the ability to perform minor repairs and maintenance in plumbing, HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, and general maintenance without supervision.
- Prefer the ability to fit pipe, both copper and black iron (welding experience).
- Prefer familiarity with computers and related software (Windows Operating Systems).
- Prefer familiarity with codes applicable to field and industry.
- Prefer proficiency in written and verbal communication.
- Prefer working knowledge of hand tools pertinent to trade(s).
- Prefer the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Prefer a working knowledge of high pressure steam boilers, centrifugal chillers, pumps, compressors and related plant equipment.
