Job Description

Position Description:
The Plant Operator is responsible for the management of the asphalt plant and asphalt production.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP
Asphalt Plant Operator directly reports to the Asphalt Plant Foreman.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare end of day plant reports as directed Maintain yard and plant to exceed environmental requirements and control room in a neat and orderly fashion Maintain plant settings and recordation of plant statistics as directed by the Plant Foreman Document plant records in the plant diary relating to plant repairs and maintenance as it becomes necessary Report findings to the Plant Foreman Coordinate with outside sales customers as necessary

Position Requirements:
REQUIREMENTS - PREFERREED
High School graduate Familiarity with computers Mechanical and electrical background Construction background
SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENTAL

TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is exposed to outdoor conditions, noise and heat Ability to workdays, nights and weekends as required
PERSONALITY REQUIREMENTS
Accurate and well organized Self-motivated with good communication skills Ability to work well with subordinates, peers and supervisors
ATTENDANCE AND RELIABILITY
Reporting to work on time, after lunch, and not leaving early unless authorized Always providing proper notification and advance notice of absence Not abusing or taking advantage of personal days off Performing such other duties as may be required
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The essential functions of this position include sitting, standing, walking, climbing, reaching, bending, trunk movements, lifting a minimum of 45 lbs., carrying, pushing/pulling, low-level work, dexterity of hands and fingers, seeing, hearing and talking.
