Job Description
Start your career in the high-demand water service sector as a Water Plant Operator for the Marias Des Cygne Public Utility Authority, the water treatment plant that provides water service to the cities of Louisburg and Paola. This position performs semi-skilled maintenance of the water plant that provides safe, quality water for the MDCPUA. Candidates should possess strong technical and mental aptitude and have effective communication, organizational and public relation skills. Candidates with a Class II Water Operator license are preferred or obtain a Class II Water Operator certification within two years of employment. Excellent benefits are provided through the City of Louisburg to include employer-paid health, dental and vision insurance paid at or near 100% depending on plan chosen by the employee and offers 50 percent coverage for dependents; in addition to paid time off, sick leave and Kansas Public Employees Retirement System. Candidates must live within a 30-minute radius of the plant's location on the Marias Des Cygne River. Salary range is $17.47 to $23.31 DOQ.
