Job Description

Overview Gas Plant Operator - Glycol & Amine Unit Experienced Oil & Gas Plant Operator with extensive knowledge of natural gas processing, including the operation, monitoring, and maintenance of Glycol Dehydration and Amine Sweetening units. Skilled in ensuring safe, efficient, and environmentally compliant plant operations while optimizing production and maintaining equipment reliability. Proficient in process troubleshooting, startup and shutdown procedures, process control systems, and preventive maintenance. Committed to maintaining the highest standards of safety, operational excellence, and regulatory compliance. Responsibilities Operate and monitor Glycol Dehydration Units to remove water vapor from natural gas streams. Operate Amine Sweetening Units to remove hydrogen sulfide (H₂S) and carbon dioxide (CO₂) from natural gas. Monitor plant parameters including pressure, temperature, flow rates, and liquid levels using
DCS/SCADA
systems. Perform routine inspections of pumps, compressors, separators, heat exchangers, filters, valves, and associated process equipment. Conduct plant startup, shutdown, and emergency shutdown (ESD) procedures safely and efficiently. Troubleshoot process upsets and equipment malfunctions to minimize downtime. Collect and analyze process samples to ensure gas quality specifications are achieved. Adjust chemical injection rates, glycol circulation, and amine concentration to optimize plant performance. Maintain detailed operating logs, shift reports, and maintenance records. Perform Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Permit to Work (PTW), confined space, and hot work procedures in accordance with company safety policies. Coordinate with maintenance personnel during equipment repairs, turnarounds, and planned shutdowns. Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, emissions standards, and company operating procedures. Participate in safety meetings, Job Safety Analyses (JSA), and emergency response drills. Maintain housekeeping standards and promote a strong safety culture throughout plant operations Skills Glycol Dehydration Systems Amine Gas Treating (DEA, MDEA, MEA) Natural Gas Processing Gas Compression Systems Process Troubleshooting
