Plant Operator 2 Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System - 3.2 Jackson, MS Job Details 8 hours ago Qualifications High school diploma or GED Full Job Description Operates the power plant; performs preventative maintenance and daily maintenance on all equipment in the power plant; keeps all equipment and the power plant clean; receives and logs calls requesting services or repairs. On night shift; performs minor maintenance services; makes security checks as specified in department procedures. Reports to Assistant Director of Engineering.
Job Function :
Observes and regulates plant equipment on a routine basis. Works without direct supervision evenings, nights, and weekends and coordinates work during off shifts with with Nursing Supervisor or department managers as applicable. Keeps logs and records as requested by the Director and the Assistant Director of Engineering Services. Performs minor repairs to the building and equipment in and out of the power plant. Keeps power plant/equipment clean and well maintained. Understands the role in hospital's fire, safety and disaster program. Supports the hospital's Christian mission and philosophy. Prolonged periods of standing, walking, or sitting while on duty. Lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 10-15 pounds with or without assistance. Visual and auditory acuity and manual dexterity essential to performing designated duties required. Ability to perform effectively in a stressful and fast paced environment. Ability to pass all required health and other screening tests. Physical conditions are clean, neat and well lit. Maybe subjected to unpleasant sights and odors, stressful situations and hazardous or infectious agents where judgment as to precautions need to be taken is essential. Climate control an ambient temperature variances may be experienced. Exposure to limited amounts of hazardous chemicals or substances and infectious disease processes are a possibility. Hours of duty may be irregular or unexpectedly extended due to emergency circumstances. Direct contact with blood or other body fluids to which universal precautions apply. Personal protective equipment is made available and must be worn.
Education :
High school diploma or equivalent and vocational/technical training required.
Work Experience :
Sufficient previous experience as a boiler operator preferred.
Skills Abilities :
Must demonstrate ability to recognize patients' individual needs based on medical conditions, age (infants, pediatrics, adolescents, young adults, middle aged, and geriatric), limitations and planned procedures.
