Job Description

Supervises, coordinates and controls the safe, timely and efficient resolution of local system emergencies on the electric distribution system by directing and controlling the repair and restoration of overhead and underground cable and equipment of varying voltages and configurations in accordance with Company standards, policies and procedures and in conformity with environmental regulations. Supervises and coordinates the de-energization and energization of all electric distribution system feeders. Monitor all scheduled, open auto "when ready" and off/on emergency work being performed on the distribution and transmission systems. Required Education/Experience High School Diploma/GED and 5 years of relevant work experience or Associate's Degree and 4 years of relevant work experience or Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of relevant work experience Preferred Education/Experience Associate's Degree and 4 years of relevant work experience Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of relevant work experience Relevant Work Experience Must be able to work a full 12-hour rotating shift. Required 5-7 years Experience as an Electric Emergency Troubleshooter, Senior Field Operator, Chief Line Constructor, Chief Splicer OR as an Operating Supervisor in Emergency, Field Operations, Overhead or Underground (I&A, Networks, etc.) Preferred Must be able to Qualify as an Incident Commander Preferred Demonstrated experience using ECS, STAR, Outage Manager, WMS Preferred Demonstrated experience in handling electric emergency restoration using incident command system (ICS) Preferred Demonstrated experience with the contractor oversight system Preferred Licenses and Certifications Driver's License Required Additional Physical Demands Must be able to respond to Company emergencies by performing a System Emergency Assignment to restore service to our customers. This is a full-rotating position. Core Responsibilities Supervises activities of subordinate personnel dispatched for repair and restoration of overhead and underground conductors, services and associated equipment of the electric distribution system. Ensures availability and timely delivery of necessary materials, supplies and equipment and tools. Ensures that repair and restoration of overhead and underground conductors, services and devices are performed in compliance with operating procedures and engineering plans and specifications. Performs with full commitment and compliance with all EH&S and Company policies and procedures, including proper storage, handling and disposal of hazardous material and promptly reports any violations of release of hazardous materials into the environment. Monitors work performance of subordinates, ensuring that their work activities are performed in a safe & efficient manner and in accordance with established policies and procedures. Ensures achievement of bureaus goals and objectives; works within approved budget and human resource guidelines. Supervises Distribution Field Operators/Substation Operators and other subordinate title personnel in the location of feeder faults and the positive identification, marking and tagging of feeders and phases, as appropriate. Ensures that all high and low tension switching operations are performed in compliance with operating procedures and engineering plans and specifications. Communicates and enforces company practices and procedures including Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), Chemical Substance abuse, progressive discipline, and security. Work full rotating shift. Must be able to work overtime to address system conditions and emergencies. Performs other related tasks and assignments as required.
