About the Role We're hiring an Asphalt Plant Operator to manage the daily operations of the asphalt plant while ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant production. This role oversees plant calibration, troubleshooting, employee supervision, and coordination with quality control and operations teams. What You'll Do Operate and maintain a clean asphalt plant in a safe and efficient manner Perform daily plant inspections, including checking for debris, spills, and aggregate buildup Maintain equipment and ensure all machinery is operating properly Calibrate the asphalt plant to maintain compliance and production accuracy Collaborate with Quality Control, supervisors, and loader operators to make operational adjustments Supervise, train, and support plant employees Maintain accurate records of production, equipment maintenance, and quality control activities Generate daily production reports and loadout tickets Oversee the handling of raw materials used in asphalt production Troubleshoot production issues to support continuous operation Fill in for plant employees as needed Maintain regular in‑person attendance Perform additional duties as assigned by management Physical Requirements Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds Prolonged periods of sitting and standing Ability to safely access and navigate plant facilities, including climbing and descending ladders Ability to kneel, crawl, and climb as required Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions Willingness to work outside normal business hours as operational needs require What You Bring Strong understanding of MSHA regulations and commitment to plant safety Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams Proven leadership and team management abilities Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills Ability to make sound decisions in fast‑paced or high‑pressure situations Electrical background preferred Proficiency with industry‑related software and systems Ability to understand mix designs and materials used in asphalt production High school diploma or equivalent required Experience with asphalt plant production or related operations preferred What We Offer Competitive benefits package Company‑paid or discounted YMCA membership Dental and vision insurance Medical insurance offered through the Operators' Union Traditional and Roth 401(k) plan A supportive and growth‑oriented work culture Opportunities for professional development and career advancement Stability and a rewarding livelihood for you and your family If you're ready to take a leadership role in asphalt production and be part of a team that values safety, teamwork, and long‑term success, we encourage you to apply!
