Aggregate Plant Maintenance | Operator CalPortland - 3.5 Troutdale, OR Job Details Full-time 21 hours ago Benefits Disability insurance Health insurance Dental insurance Employee assistance program Vision insurance Life insurance Qualifications Outdoor work experience Safety regulations High school diploma or GED Driver's License Power tools Hand tools Construction aggregates Full Job Description Job Summary The Aggregate Plant Maintenace / Operator is responsible for operating equipment as needed and perform safe repair, maintenance of mining equipment typically found in an aggregate facility including, but not limited to screen decks, material screws, conveyors, pumps, dust collectors, bins, silos, hoppers. This individual is expected to complete pre-shift and post-shift equipment inspections, submit required daily documentation, and assist in plant operations as needed. Responsibilities Perform safety/mechanical inspections of the plant and equipment Address any housekeeping issues within the work area Troubleshoot, and resolve maintenance problems to ensure minimum cost and prevent operational delays Monitor, repair and change worn parts Proper use of company provided and/or own tools to complete repair and maintenance tasks Able to use welder and cutting torches to repair and maintain plant equipment Operate loader and other equipment as needed General labor duties such as shoveling and sweeping Understand all CalPortland policies and procedures Understand and comply with MSHA rules and regulations Good attendance and punctuality are a must Able to work irregular and extended hours and weekends to complete maintenance, repairs within the facility Proper use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) always Other duties as assigned Education High School Diploma/GED Requirements/Qualifications Safety Sensitive position Ability to work alone and within a team Operate heavy machinery including loader, dozer, water truck and haul truck Ability to load dump trucks safely and efficiently Familiarity with aggregates and construction materials - sand, gravel, crushed rock, etc. Abilitiy to work under pressure Ability to work overtime; extended hours and weekend work as required for timely project completion Travel locally between locations Have experiences including: welding, fabricating, belt splicing, and/or familiarity working around crushers, screens, sand screws, etc. Knowledge of various aggregate plant equipment including hoppers, feeders, conveyors, screens, crushers, and track mounted screens and crushers Current drivers license and clean driving record Familiarity with mine site safety rules and regulations Ability to use various electric and air-powered hand tools and equipment as necessary Ability to work outdoors in inclement weather (heat, cold, rain) for shifts up to 12 hours in length Able to lift 50lbs pounds frequently, up to 100 pounds occasionally, climb stairs/ladders, and walk on uneven or rough terrain Punctual and reliable, with adequate means of transportation to arrive at work when scheduled Conditions of Employment Successful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check. FMCSA regulated and Safety Sensitive positions require on-going drug and alcohol testing. #LI-CS1
