Job Description
The H&K Group is seeking a 2nd Shift Plant Operator to support our construction materials operations. In this role, you will safely operate and monitor asphalt or concrete plant equipment, adjust controls, and ensure consistent material quality. Responsibilities include performing routine inspections, basic maintenance, and troubleshooting issues to minimize downtime. You'll load trucks, track production data, and follow strict safety and environmental standards. Working closely with supervisors and mechanics, you'll help keep production running efficiently while supporting a family-oriented, safety-first culture with opportunities for long-term growth. Responsibilities Operate and monitor asphalt or concrete plant equipment on 2nd shift Adjust plant controls to maintain proper material mix and quality Perform routine equipment inspections and basic preventive maintenance Troubleshoot operating issues to reduce downtime and coordinate repairs Load trucks safely and accurately with required materials Record production data, material usage, and downtime events Follow all safety, environmental, and regulatory procedures Communicate with supervisors, mechanics, and drivers to coordinate production Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards Support continuous improvement of plant efficiency and reliability Required Skills Plant equipment operation Heavy equipment operation Preventive maintenance Mechanical troubleshooting Process monitoring and control Basic electrical and mechanical knowledge Safety and OSHA compliance Production recordkeeping Quality control of construction materials Communication and teamwork
