This also includes monitoring and reporting on equipment performance and production, performing routine inspections and basic maintenance to ensure safe and productive up-time operations. Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the industrial recycling slow-speed shredder system, feedstock material compliance, and supporting rolling stock assets.
• Responsible for the feed of approved recyclable materials into the slow-speed shredder system according to operating procedures and capacity limits.
• Monitor the shredding process and adjust equipment controls to maintain consistent production and throughput.
• Inspect incoming materials and remove nonconforming or hazardous materials prior to processing. Inbound inspection feedstock responsibilities. Isolate nonconforming materials in designated areas for safety controls (i.e., non-shreddable material, batteries, industrial gas bottles, etc.).
• Monitor the shredding process equipment for blockages, abnormal noises, excessive vibration, overheating, or other related problems.
• Safely shut down equipment and clear jams in accordance with lockout/tagout procedures.
• Monitor and oversee the static system and mobile equipment asset health and performance indicators and alarms. Engine readings, hydraulic pressures, temperatures, rotor performance, production rates, alarms, and other operating indicators that can impact production.
• Perform daily equipment inspections, lubrication, cleaning, and basic preventative maintenance for all related static and supporting mobile equipment.
• Monitor processed materials for proper size, quality, and contamination levels.
• If required, operate material handler, forklift, skid steer, loader, or other mobile equipment when trained and authorized.
• Cross-training all on equipment is critical to the success of your department and overall business
• Maintain daily accurate production, inspection, and maintenance records.
• Keep the work area clean and free of material buildup and safety hazards.
• Report equipment malfunctions, maintenance needs, and safety concerns to Safety Supervisor and Manager.
• Follow company safety policies, PPE requirements, environmental regulations, and operating procedures. Qualifications
• Previous experience operating recycling, concrete/aggregate crushers, shredding, material-processing, or industrial equipment is strongly preferred.
• Experience in recycling, waste management, manufacturing, construction, or material handling is a plus.
• Mechanical aptitude and basic troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to follow operating and safety procedures
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to safety and detail.
• Ability to work rotating shifts, overtime, weekends, or holidays when required. Physical Requirements
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and equipment platforms.
• Ability to lift and handle tools and materials as required.
• Ability to work around loud machinery, dust, vibration, and varying temperatures.
• Ability to wear required PPE, including hearing, eye, hand, foot, and respiratory protection where required.

Pay:

$28.00 - $33.00 per hour
