The Engineering Tech devises methods to optimize oil and gas extraction and production, inspects and oversees exploration, drilling, production, and plugging operations while ensuring safety and compliance of executed plans.
Key Responsibilities:
Collection, monitoring and analysis of production and well operations data, and oversight of well operator technical activities. Drilling and Workover planning, including targeting, pricing, selection, supervision, and partner communication on projects Provide technical support for existing gathering, processing, and treating facilities to maximize uptime and efficiency Completion/Oversight of regulatory reporting and permitting requests. Oversight of field, pipeline, plant and compression. Assist in vendor selection and oversight in operations and production. Geological tasks such as logging or maintaining logs, pulling cross-sections and interpretations for safety concerns, production planning, and asset evaluation. GIS including maintenance of internal map sand mapping systems for wells, pipeline, land and regulatory purposes. Coordination with revenue accounting and confirmation of revenue and pipeline allocations. Provide technology assistance for random IT needs, as well as specific plant and pipeline control systems oversight. Work with external vendors for control system changes. Foster the development of reporting Engineers.
Necessary Skills and Qualifications:
Education :
Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
Certification/Licensure :
None required.
Experience :
10+ years of progressive experience in midstream oil & gas.
Capability and experience in producing financial analysis, production analysis, and other report creation, as well as negotiating contracts.
Technical Knowledge :
In depth understanding of natural gas processing, compression, and pipeline design. Must have fluent computer knowledge. Must have experience with O&G safety regulations and training. Must have a high level of problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
Communication :
Must have good communications both internally and externally. Effective stakeholder management skills for coordinating with all internal departments and external regulatory agencies.
