Job Description

Here's The Role We are seeking an ambitious candidate for our open Plant Operator I position. This entry-level role assists plant operations staff and other personnel by monitoring and isolating equipment, operating switchgear and breakers, and troubleshooting equipment and process initiatives. You will work in a coal-fired power plant environment. This role offers the chance to develop skills through structured assignments and instructor-led training. How You'll Contribute Isolate and tag out equipment for maintenance, according to directions and plant operating procedures. Acquire knowledge of equipment operating parameters to recognize and report abnormal conditions as they occur, according to established procedures. Complete and submit all logs and reports to immediate supervisor as instructed. Assist maintenance and instrumentation & controls departments during outages. Perform unit walk downs (makes rounds) to monitor operating equipment. How You're Qualified Zero or more years of experience in the inspection, monitoring and maintenance of power plant and/or coal yard equipment, including the isolation and tagging of systems or other relevant experience. Driver's license How You'll Stand Out Ability to adhere to critical operating procedures/guidelines, safety and environmental rules and regulations. Basic knowledge of LOTO procedures, ability to communicate effectively, dedication to safety and environmental leadership. Fundamental understanding of power plant operating principles.
