Job Description

Plant Operator/Hazmat Position Summary:
Operation, maintenance, minor repairs and preventive maintenance or production of steam and hot water systems, cooling systems and daily inspection of equipment operations.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Training and Experience:
Vocational school training or on-the-job training experience. A mechanically oriented background.
Job Knowledge:
Have a basic knowledge of related operations (i.e., heating and cooling systems)
Unusual Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
Frequent strenuous activity such as lifting, pulling and pushing. Potential exposure to hazardous materials. May come in contact with contagious diseased equipment. Must be able to react immediately to potential hazards. Requires extensive climbing and maneuverability in confined spaces.
