Water Plant Operator

Job Description
Accepting applications for a licensed Surface Water Plant Operator / trainee. Work schedule is 4-10hr days with rotating weekend days. Record and monitor water supply and storage including manual tasks in laboratory chemical receiving, filter backwashing, valve and pipe maintenance / repair, general plant maintenance and grounds keeping. Monitor operations and processes to ensure that local, state, and federal regulations are met, and water quality is maintained. Perform compliance testing and analysis in the Distribution system and Water Plant as required. Prepare and maintain accurate logs, reports and records. Understand and follow proper safety and operating procedures. Identify, diagnose and correct problems relating to the treatment processes including making chemical dosage, raw flow, and pump changes. Respond to customer complaints.
Qualifications:
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES
C Surface Water Treatment License or D with the ability and experience to acquire a C Surface Water Treatment License within 180 days. Valid Texas drivers license The ability to clear pre-employment background and drug screenings. Proficiency using a computer and Microsoft Suite products. Strong math, logic, and reasoning skills.
