Job Description
The Distribution Operator I supports the safe, complaint, and efficient operation of groundwater wells and associated facilities. This role involves field activities including water quality sampling, system monitoring, routine maintenance, and facility inspections in compliance with Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) and internal standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily well reads and monitor system performance (flow, pressure, chlorine levels).
- Inspect wells, tanks, booster stations, and chemical feed systems for issues or malfunctions.
- Assist with maintenance and flushing of lines; support emergency repairs as needed.
- Maintain accurate logs and reports; ensure compliance with TCEQ and safety protocols.
- Maintain detailed records of work performed and any issues encountered
- Identify and report irregularities such as meter malfunctions, unauthorized usage.
Safety Compliance:
Follow all safety protocols and use proper personal protective equipment.Team Collaboration:
Work with other departments and support overall utility service goals.Emergency Support:
Participate in on-call rotations, including evenings and weekends.Training & Development:
Attend meetings and training sessions as needed to maintain and grow technical knowledge.Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- TCEQ Class C Water Operator License Preferred
- Valid Texas driver's license and good driving record.
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and participate in on-call rotations.
- Strong attention to detail, time management, and communication skills.
- Bilingual a plus
