Prepress Technician Fox Press, LLC - Hammond, LA Full-time Fox Press, LLC is a leading commercial printing company in Hammond, Louisiana, specializing in high-quality commercial printing, publications, direct mail, labels, and digital print solutions. We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Prepress Technician to join our production team. The Prepress Technician is responsible for reviewing, preparing, and approving customer files before they move into production. The right person will have a strong graphic design background, an exceptional eye for detail, and an understanding of how digital files translate into finished printed products.

Responsibilities:

Review incoming customer files for print readiness and accuracy Identify and correct potential file problems before production Check bleeds, image resolution, fonts, color settings, page sizes, transparencies, and other technical specifications Prepare files for platemaking and offset production Impose and prepare files for digital presses Create and review production-ready PDFs and proofs Make minor design and file corrections when necessary Ensure files are properly prepared for the intended printing and finishing processes Work closely with customer service, graphic design, and production departments to resolve file issues Maintain organized production files and accurate job specifications Help prevent costly production errors by catching problems before a job reaches the press Keep jobs moving efficiently while maintaining a high standard of quality

Qualifications:

Strong graphic design knowledge is required Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly Adobe Acrobat, InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop Strong understanding of typography, layout, color, image resolution, PDFs, and print file preparation Excellent attention to detail and ability to spot inconsistencies and potential production problems Ability to manage multiple jobs and priorities in a deadline-driven production environment Strong organizational and problem-solving skills Ability to communicate effectively with customer service, designers, and production personnel Commercial printing or print production experience is strongly preferred Knowledge of offset and digital printing processes is a plus Experience with prepress workflow, RIP, imposition, and platemaking software is a strong plus
