Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Print Operator / Intake Specialist to serve as the primary point of contact for incoming print requests. This position reviews customer orders, enters job specifications, performs basic prepress work, resolves file-related issues, and prepares print-ready files for production. The successful candidate will combine print-production knowledge with excellent customer service, communication, and organizational skills. This position requires the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines while ensuring every order is complete, accurate, and ready for production. Key Responsibilities Review incoming print requests for completeness, accuracy, and production requirements. Enter job specifications, quantities, deadlines, delivery instructions, and other details into the ordering portal. Perform basic prepress functions, including file review, setup, formatting, and correction. Identify resolution, sizing, formatting, font, image, bleed, or other file-related issues. Contact customers to obtain revised artwork, missing assets, or additional information. Communicate with customers regarding order specifications, production status, deadlines, and job-related concerns. Confirm that orders meet print-production and organizational standards before releasing them to production. Coordinate with production employees to prioritize jobs and support on-time completion. Monitor job progress and follow up on missing information to prevent production delays. Maintain accurate records of customer requests, job details, status updates, and correspondence. Operate, calibrate, and perform basic troubleshooting on office and print-production equipment. Provide professional and responsive customer service throughout the order process. Manage multiple print projects and changing deadlines in a fast-paced production environment. Perform other related duties as assigned. Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. At least three years of related print-production, print-operations, prepress, or customer-service experience. Knowledge of commercial print processes, file preparation, and prepress workflows. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Experience using online ordering portals or workflow-management systems. Strong attention to detail and ability to identify file and formatting problems. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong customer-service and problem-solving abilities. Good organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple assignments. Ability to understand and apply detailed production instructions. Ability to work effectively under deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Ability to use, calibrate, and troubleshoot office and technical equipment. Preferred Qualifications Five years of related experience. Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, particularly: Adobe Acrobat Adobe Illustrator Adobe InDesign Adobe Photoshop Work Environment and Physical Requirements Work is performed primarily in an office and print-production environment. The position is mostly sedentary but also requires periods of walking, standing, bending, and reaching. Regular use of keyboards, calculators, hand tools, and other equipment requiring hand-eye coordination. Ability to regularly lift and carry items weighing less than 10 pounds, including paper, files, books, and small equipment parts. Ability to occasionally lift up to 70 pounds, including cases of paper. Work assignments may require interpreting detailed instructions, production specifications, and other complex information.
Pay:
$21.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
