Job Overview The Prepress Operator is We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically proficient Prepress Operator to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for all prepress production activities including typesetting, artwork layout, plate making, die specification updates, proof preparation, and coordination with manufacturing, customer service, and sales. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Prepress Production & Plate Work Perform cutting, platemaking, sticky-backing, and preparation of flexographic plates for production. Pull repeat plates and maintain organized plate files for tag and label operations. Prepare, make-up, and process plates for printing operations. Perform stripping, color separations, and negative/film preparation when required. Typesetting & Artwork Perform typesetting and arrange art layouts according to job specifications. Retrieve customer artwork from the internet or provided files. Update dies and create specifications for new dies. Update and file specification sheets as needed. Proofing & Customer Interaction Prepare and send digital or physical proofs to customers for approval. Send weekly proof-approval reminders to the sales team. Check return bags for changes to specifications and update/process accordingly. Coordination & Support Work closely with Manufacturing, Sales, and Customer Service to coordinate production activities and resolve issues. Assist with promotions or special projects for customer service and sales when needed. Ensure proper reporting of production and time data.
