Job Summary We are looking for an experienced Camera Operator to join our team during Gala 2026 to capture unique and compelling footage for our audience, and play an instrumental role in telling the stories of our mission at the event. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, a high level of technical expertise, and the ability to work well in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Responsibilities Operate camera equipment to capture high quality footage of Gala 2026.
Collaborate with event directors and other crew members to plan and execute shoots.
Perform routine maintenance and ensure that camera equipment is clean and in working order.
Assist with set up and tear down of equipment.
Provide input on the selection of camera angles, lighting, and set design to improve the overall quality of footage. Required Qualifications Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Camera Operator ideally within a live event setting.
Proficiency in using digital and film cameras and in-depth understanding of lighting techniques, their applications and equipment types.
Strong technical proficiency in camera hardware and accessory equipment including dollies, jibs, etc.
Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing conditions on-set.
Bachelor's degree in communications, television production, or film or industry training in camera operation. Preferred Qualifications Experience in working with nonprofit organizations or in educational programming.
Knowledge of Sesame Workshop's mission and programming.
Experience filming in a variety of indoor and outdoor settings.
Ability to troubleshoot technical issues that may arise during shooting.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Sesame Workshop Hybrid Work Policy This position is based at our headquarters office in York (Manhattan) at 1900 Broadway, York, NY, and follows a hybrid work model. In-office requirements vary by role and employee group, and currently range from two to five designated in-office days per week.
