Job Description
Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Press Brake Operator to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining press brake machines to accurately bend and form sheet metal components according to technical specifications. Your expertise will ensure high-quality production while adhering to safety standards and optimizing machine efficiency. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to precision metal fabrication in a fast-paced, safety-conscious environment. Responsibilities Set up and operate press brake machines, ensuring proper tooling and calibration for each job. Interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and shop math to determine bend angles, dimensions, and tooling requirements. Program CNC (Computer Numerical Control) controls on press brake machines for precise bending operations. Conduct quality inspections using measuring instruments and precision measurement tools to verify parts meet specifications. Maintain a clean and safe work area by following all safety protocols and handling materials with care, including sheet metal and tooling. Perform routine machine maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and adjust settings to optimize performance. Collaborate with team members on assembly processes and ensure seamless workflow across manufacturing stages. Skills Proficiency in operating press brake machines along with familiarity with CNC programming and CNC laser cutting. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret blueprints, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and technical drawings. Experience with machining tools such as CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, stamping presses, plasma cutting, electrical discharge machining (EDM), and forming machines. Skilled in measurement techniques for quality control using measuring instruments like calipers, micrometers, and other precision tools. Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes including forming, welding, assembly, and metal finishing. Ability to adhere strictly to safety standards in production environments while operating machinery or handling materials. Basic shop math skills necessary for calculating dimensions, angles, and material quantities. Mechanical aptitude combined with hands-on experience in machine setup, tooling selection, and troubleshooting. Strong understanding of safety protocols related to press operation and general manufacturing practices.
