Full Job Description Job Summary:
2nd Shift (3:30pm-12am) We are seeking a skilled and reliable Set Up Press Brake Operator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, adjusting, and operating Press Brake machines to produce high-quality products. Experience in operating and setting up press brakes, including CNC press brakes, is required. You will ensure proper machine operation, troubleshoot issues, and follow safety protocols while adhering to production schedules. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Set up press brake machines according to production specifications, including tool changes, adjustments, and programming on controller. Selecting and installing the appropriate tooling (dies, punches) based on the part specifications. Adjust the machine settings, back gauges and bend angles, to achieve the desired results. Ensure machines are properly calibrated and function at optimal performance levels. Monitor machine operations during production runs, making adjustments as needed to maintain quality and efficiency. Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings is essential. Conduct routine maintenance on press brake machines to ensure they are in good working condition, including cleaning and lubricating parts as necessary. Troubleshoot and resolve minor machine malfunctions and issues that may arise during the forming process. Adhere to safety guidelines and report any hazards or safety concerns to management. Inspect finished products for quality and precision, ensuring they meet required specifications using various measuring tools and techniques necessary for verifying part dimensions and quality. Maintain accurate production records, including machine setup logs, production counts, and quality checks. Collaborate with other team members and departments to meet production goals and deadlines. Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (technical or vocational training preferred). Proven experience setting up and operating CNC Press brake machines. Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications. Knowledge of press brake punches and die tools, tooling systems Familiarity with safety standards and practices in a manufacturing environment. Strong attention to detail and ability to perform quality control checks. Ability to work independently or as part of a team. Excellent communication skills and ability to follow instructions.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift materials up to 40 pounds. Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination to operate machinery and perform inspections. Ability to work in a noisy, fast-paced environment with exposure to mechanical equipment.
