: Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Press Brake Lead to join our manufacturing team on our night shift. In this hands-on leadership role, you will set up and operate press brake equipment while leading day-to-day press brake operations, supporting and training operators, and ensuring production goals are met safely and to specification. The ideal candidate brings strong technical skills, a continuous-improvement mindset, and the ability to read and apply blueprints and work instructions to deliver consistent, high-quality parts.
Responsibilities
Lead daily press brake operations on the night shift, ensuring safe, efficient flow of work.
Set up and operate press brake machines to perform bending operations on sheet metal; verify correct tooling, tonnage, and bend sequence.
Read and interpret blueprints, routings, and technical drawings to determine specifications, tolerances, and inspection requirements.
Program and edit press brake programs as needed for various production runs; perform first-piece/first-article verification prior to release.
Troubleshoot setup and quality issues, coordinate with engineering/quality as needed, and implement corrective actions to prevent repeat defects.
Train and mentor press brake operators on safe operation, set up best practices, blueprint interpretation, and inspection techniques; maintain a clean, organized work area and enforce safety/5S standards.
Experience
5-10 years of press brake experience, including demonstrated ability to lead or support others (lead, senior operator, trainer, or similar).
Strong blueprint reading skills, including GD&T basics and tolerance interpretation.
Strong math skills for accurate measurements, bend allowances, and setup calculations.
Experience performing in-process and final inspections using calipers, micrometers, angle gauges, and other measuring tools.
Proven ability to prioritize work, communicate clearly, and drive quality and productivity on the floor; sheet metal fabrication experience is highly desirable.
