Press Brake Operator Job Description As a Press Brake Operator, you will be responsible for setting up and operating press brake machines to produce high-quality metal components. This role requires a keen eye for detail, the ability to interpret engineering drawings, and a commitment to maintaining safety and quality standards. Responsibilities Set up and prepare press brake machines for production runs, including selecting appropriate tooling and materials. Interpret engineering drawings and blueprints to determine precise bending requirements. Program and adjust machine settings, including speed, angle, and pressure, to achieve accurate bends and cuts. Load materials into the machine and align them properly to ensure precise shaping. Monitor the production process, making necessary adjustments to maintain quality and accuracy. Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications. Troubleshoot and resolve minor machine malfunctions and production issues. Essential Skills Press Brake operating experience. Proficiency with a tape measure and shop math. Ability to interpret blueprints. Experience in sheet metal fabrication and machine setup. Additional Skills & Qualifications Prior Press Brake operating experience (pay based on experience). Tape Measure skills (required). Machine Setup experience (Nice to Have). Work Environment Work in a shop environment that is climate-controlled, though it can become hot or cold when bay doors are open. The position is for the 1st shift, with 4 10-hour days from either Monday-Thursday or Tuesday-Friday, 5:30 AM to 4:00 PM. Occasionally, overtime is required on the 5th day. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pacific, MO. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $27.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
