Metals USA is a solid, growth oriented, carbon-steel (plate, beam, tube) distribution center servicing the defense, commercial, construction, aerospace and fabrication industries.

Responsibilities:

The Brake Press Operator is responsible for producing parts and tools from metal using a brake press (CNC) that makes precision bends, punches or cuts into material. Plans machining by reviewing blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, drawings, reference planes, locations on surfaces, machining parameters, interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD &T). Prepares and operates Brake Press with proper program, tools and material for specific part. Prepares and loads raw material and parts onto the machine. Checks height, depth and thickness using micrometers, dial indicators, calipers, gauges and other precision-measuring instruments. Monitors the machine as it executes the task and makes necessary adjustments to produce a quality product. Inspects and measures finished products and compares to the requirements to determine if the process was completed properly.

Requirements:

High School Graduate or Equivalent. Two-year technical degree or apprenticeship. Proven experience as a Brake Press Operator. Basic mathematic skills to calculate and convert decimals and fractions. Basic reading and writing comprehension in English (to read instructions, work orders, safety and policies/manuals). Proficient measuring skills and the ability to read measuring tapes, micrometers and calipers. Valid OSHA Forklift/Overhead Crane Certification is a plus; willing to train Metals USA offers a competitive salary & benefits plus upward professional growth.
