Job Description

Press Brake Operator Pay Rate:
$20 - $30/hr
DOE Location:
Houston, 77028
Schedule:
7am to 4pm, plus significant OT opportunity
Overview:
The Press Brake Operator is responsible for setting up and operating machinery that bends, shapes, and forms light-gauge metal sheets according to specific engineering designs. The Press Brake Operator will interpret blueprints and produce high-quality metal parts with consistent accuracy while maintaining safety protocols and high production standards.
Key Responsibilities Machine Setup :
Select and install appropriate tooling and dies based on project requirements.
CNC Programming :
Input dimensions and bend sequences into the machine controller to achieve desired angles and shapes.
Material Handling :
Position light-gauge metal sheets accurately against back gauges.
Quality Inspection :
Use precision tools like calipers, micrometers, and protractors to verify that finished parts meet design tolerances.
Maintenance :
Perform routine cleaning and minor preventative maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performanc
Required Skills & Qualifications Technical Proficiency :
Ability to read and interpret complex engineering blueprints and technical drawings.
Mathematics :
Strong shop math skills, including fractions, decimals, and basic geometry for calculating bend allowances.
Precision Tools :
Experience using measuring instruments such as calipers and height gauges.
Physical Stamina :
Ability to stand for long shifts and perform repetitive tasks with small components.
Education :
A high school diploma or equivalent
Compensation & Work Environment Environment :
Work is conducted in a metal fabrication shop which can be loud, requiring consistent use of personal protective equipment (PPE) Compensation / Pay Rate (Up to): $20.00 - $30.00 Per Hour
