GED Full Job Description Schedule:

7am - 5:30pm

Job Summary:

A press brake operator sets up, operates, and maintains machinery to bend, fold, or straighten sheet metal and plates based on engineering blueprints. They calibrate machine controls, load tooling, ensure precision through quality checks using measuring tools, and strictly adhere to manufacturing safety protocols.

Responsibilities:

Blueprint Interpretation:

Read and analyze technical drawings, work orders, and production schedules to determine exact bending specifications and dimensions.

Machine Setup & Calibration:

Select, install, and align proper dies and tooling. Program or adjust CNC parameters for tonnage, pressure, and depth.

Quality Assurance:

Inspect finished metal components against design tolerances using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, protractors, and gauges.

Machine Maintenance:

Perform routine cleaning, lubrication, and basic troubleshooting to maintain optimal equipment performance.

Safety Compliance:

Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE) and following strict lock-out/tag-out procedures.

Qualifications:

Experience & Education:

High school diploma or equivalent, typically combined with 1 to 3 years of hands-on experience in metal fabrication or operating CNC machinery.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in interpreting blueprints and familiarity with computer numerical control (CNC) software programming.

Math & Measurement:

Strong math aptitude, including geometry, and the ability to measure parts accurately.

Physical Demands:

High physical stamina; ability to stand for long shifts, perform repetitive movements, and frequently lift or move heavy materials (up to 50 lbs). #HSM125

Pay:

$19.00 - $21.00 per hour
