Press Brake Operator Job Description This position involves setting up and operating press brake machines to bend and form sheet metal parts according to customer specifications. You will install and adjust tooling, interpret blueprints, verify product accuracy using precision measuring tools, and ensure that materials and packaging meet established quality standards. The role requires monitoring production, troubleshooting issues, making minor machine adjustments, inspecting finished products, maintaining equipment, and supporting a clean and efficient work area while assisting or training other operators as needed. Responsibilities Set up and operate press brake machines to bend and form metal parts to required dimensions and customer specifications. Install, adjust, and remove tooling and dies on press brake equipment to accommodate different jobs and materials. Read and interpret blueprints and work instructions to determine bend sequences, tolerances, and part requirements. Verify product accuracy and dimensions using precision measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers. Monitor production runs, identify issues with material, tooling, or machine performance, and make minor adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency. Inspect parts and finished products for defects, accuracy, and conformance to quality standards before packaging or further processing. Ensure materials, parts, and packaging are handled and stored properly to maintain quality and prevent damage. Perform basic preventive maintenance and cleaning on press brake machines and related equipment to support reliable operation. Keep the work area clean, organized, and safe, following all shop procedures and guidelines. Collaborate with and assist other press brake operators, providing support and training when needed to help meet production goals. Essential Skills Hands-on experience operating press brake machines in a metal fabrication or manufacturing environment. Proficiency in press brake machine setup, including tooling installation, adjustment, and changeover. Ability to read and interpret blueprints accurately to determine required bends, dimensions, and tolerances. Strong understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes and characteristics. Experience working with CNC press brake equipment or controls. Ability to use precision measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers to verify part dimensions. Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high quality standards in production. Basic mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting minor machine and tooling issues. Ability to maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in a manufacturing setting. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in metal fabrication or manufacturing environments. Experience reading and following detailed work instructions and job travelers. Comfort working on a fixed second shift schedule. Willingness to assist and train other operators to support team productivity. Strong communication skills for coordinating with team members and supervisors. Why Work Here? The position operates on a second shift schedule, working Monday through Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. The environment is focused on precision sheet metal fabrication, using press brake and related equipment in a structured production setting. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Osceola, WI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.
