Want to work for the Largest Vertically Integrated Manufacturer of Aluminum products? AFCO Industries is hiring for an enthusiastic, self-motivated Extrusion Technician to join our team!
Responsibilities:
Assists in all facets of the extrusion press processes and backups all extrusion press positions. Assists with training and instructing new employees on learning required tools and PPE training. Helps determine order of production at the press by consulting the press team. Assists with department manpower shortages and serves as a swing position to other shifts. Backups saw operator, stretcher, saw helper, press operator, and is training to backup lead man role. Functions in areas needed to maximize flow of material through the department and is mindful of the processing to maximize recovery. Aids in checking and inspecting material for correct dimensions and advises die shop when corrections are required. Works with Extrusion manager to maintain records of quality by ensuring control check lists are followed and properly completed. Ensures extrusions processed meet customer drawings/guidelines. Informs lead person/extrusion manager or maintenance department of any press or equipment functions that are abnormal. Report's problems or accidents to management immediately. Considers safety on each job and abides by all company safety rules, policies, and procedures.
PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide decimals and fractions: work from CAD drawings and formulas. Able to use and interpret adjustable measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers and scales.
