Shift Pay:
$22.00 - $27.00/hr, based on experience, plus 2nd shift differential of $[1.00]/hr Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and reliable Folder/Gluer Operator to set up, operate, and maintain folder/gluer machines used in the production of folding cartons. This role is critical in ensuring that products meet customer specifications and quality standards while maintaining production efficiency and minimizing downtime. Typical hours are 2:30 pm to 11:00 pm (with a 30 minute unpaid lunch), Monday through Friday. Initial training on company procedures and processes is provided hands-on during 1st shift (6:00am-4:30pm), with a smooth transition to full 2nd shift hours once training is complete and trust is established — so you'll never be thrown into the deep end. Key Responsibilities Set up and operate folder/gluer equipment (e.g., Bobst, Jagenberg, Signature, etc.) according to job specifications and standard operating procedures. Read and interpret job tickets and production orders to determine machine settings and production requirements. Perform quality checks throughout the run to ensure finished cartons meet specifications for dimensions, glue application, and fold accuracy. Monitor machine operation to detect malfunctions or quality issues and make necessary adjustments. Perform minor maintenance and troubleshooting to keep machines running smoothly. Accurately record production data including quantities produced, downtime, and material usage. Work with quality control, maintenance, and supervisors to ensure high-quality production with minimal waste. Maintain a clean and safe work area in compliance with company safety standards. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. At least 3 years of experience operating folder/gluer machines in a packaging or printing environment, on equipment such as Bobst, Jagenberg, Signature, Eterna, Heidelberg, or similar. Experience with make-readies and changeovers for a variety of carton styles (e.g., straight-line, crash-lock, 4/6 corner). Familiarity with quality control procedures and/or lean manufacturing practices. Knowledge of glue systems, sensors, and basic troubleshooting. Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail. Ability to read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and technical drawings. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Physical ability to stand, bend, lift (up to 50 lbs), and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
