Full Job Description SUMMARY:
A Stamping Die Setter is responsible for ensuring that a press is set up correctly, die tryout and first piece approval runs, and supporting the timing and quality requirements of the Company's customers.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Pull and set dies.
- Read the Quality Process check sheet to satisfy the requirements for job set up.
- Verify that the dies are set properly.
- Run job for first piece approval until approved by Quality, making necessary adjustments.
- Check light curtains daily for safety. Complete the light curtain check sheet.
- Change perishable tooling.
- Complete the Die Set check sheet and the Die Info and Set up sheet.
- Set the PLC's inside the presses.
- Pay attention to detail, troubleshoot die set up and the way the press runs to achieve optimal results.
- Repair broken punches, buttons, shims, if possible. Contact Tool Room for help with more extensive repairs.
- Support the Supervisor and/or Plant Manager and communicate set up problems.
- Knowledge of QMS/EMS.
- Follow good safety and housekeeping practices.
- Assist in other areas of Company operations as deemed necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Basic math skills
- Measuring tools
- Knowledge of OSHA and MIOSHA requirements as applied to the die set up and press operation.
TS-16949 & ISO-14001.
EDUCATION and/orEXPERIENCE
- Minimum 3-years' experience in automotive manufacturing.
- Forklift and Overhead Crane .
LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Candidate must possess good communication skills, have the ability to train fellow employees and communicate ideas to others.
CERTIFICATE, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
- Powered Industrial Truck Permit
