Punch Press Set up OperatorSUMMARY/OBJECTIVE
The Punch Press Set Up Operator will contribute to the company's success by performing a variety of set ups and operating powered presses to punch and form metal and other materials used in manufacturing operations.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Operate and set up punch press and perform press operations utilizing blank, form, draw, pierce, and progressive dies. Maintains consistent quality and understand productivity rates for each job. Responsible for the proper in process inspections up to and including SPC as required and their standard quality checks. Must follow work instructions and work orders (routers) to ensure that all customer and Acro requirements are met. Safe operation of tooling and equipment is understood and followed at all times. Maintains a clean work environment. Completes accurate paperwork including labor sheets, material pick lists and time records as appropriate. Responsible for packaging parts in a safe and reasonable manner to move parts throughout the shop. Responsible to stop process if at any time parts are not meeting the quality requirements or the process is not meeting the safety requirements. Required to use measurement equipment such as micrometers, calipers and indicators with height gages as required for each job. Mentors and coaches operators to ensure that they understand the requirements of the job that has been set up. May approve product for first piece approval according to Acro's standards.WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Normal production environment.
- Safety glasses are always required in the manufacturing area.
- Lubricants and sharp metals will be part of the normal operations.
- Ability to lift, bend and twist repetitively as required for each job.
- Clear or correct vision and a close distance and ability to read small print, numbers, or measurement devices at a close distance.
- Ability to push or pull above the shoulder and perform repetitive hand and wrist motions.
- Ability to lift 15 lbs. unassisted and up to 50 lbs. with assistance.
- Will be required to sit or stand for long periods of time.
- Normal workweek is 40 hours with off-shift and weekend support as needed to assure work is completed in a timely fashion.
