Job Description
Ability to use a ruler or tape measure to measure in Imperial and metric increments. Must be able to measure to 1/16th of an inch and in millimeters. Global Packaging, Inc, is a Global leader in the field of Flexographic Printing for the private label and branded markets of diapers, sanitary products, towel, tissue and napkins as well as frozen food packaging and baked goods. The Global Packaging team is dedicated to the continuous building of a diverse community, where each employee feels valued for their contributions coupled with the perspectives they bring. We continue to expand our Phoenixville PA, and Oaks PA, facilities and are excited to add a Press Operators/Helpers to our team! The essential functions of a Press Helpers are to produce high quality printed material using flexographic printing presses and ensuring compliance with customer specifications for each job. You'll be expected to meet or exceed production goals and to follow all safety programs, policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will possess prior experience in flexible printing or machine operation within a manufacturing environment, complemented by a demonstrated history of longevity and consistency in their work experience. Demonstrated ability accurately measure 1/16th inch (Imperial) and 1 mm (metric) using a tape measure or ruler to maintain quality standards.
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Must have flexibility to work 3/4 12-hour shift, (6:30 P.M. - 6:30 A.M.) Efficiently perform job set ups meeting established quality criteria. Use of instrumentation and process equipment to aid in efficient change overs. Complies with customer specifications for each job, measuring bags as specified and checking quality as required. Meets or exceeds production expectations for each job produced while minimizing material waste. Complies with standard operating procedures, quality procedures and safety procedures (e.g., Standard Operating Procedures for Press Operators , Press Troubleshooting Guide ) Accurately records production data as required. Reports any equipment issues or non-conforming product issues to supervisor. Cleans up press, returning inks and solvents to ink room, placing used shop towels in designated area. Assists with preventive maintenance. Ability to cross train and work on any printing press, or to work in other departments as needed. Assists in training other press helpers as needed. Other duties, as assigned.REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Capable of color match visually and using colorimetric instrumentation. Must have good trouble shooting skills. Ability to learn, navigate and use all proprietary company and equipment software. Good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work effectively with customers and other employees. Must possess excellent skills in working in a team environment.EDUCATION/WORK EXPERIENCE
